The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) team is happy to announce the continuation of the Métis Early Learning Family Socials and addition of the Métis Early Learning Lil' Socials. These social events will be available for Métis early learners between the ages of zero (0) years and twelve (12) years and their families. Events have been scheduled to run seasonally and the next event is the Early Learning Family Lil' Scoops Social Event!  Métis families will celebrate the warm months of summer with a rendevous, including a special treat for families to share amongst one another! One (1) time will be offered: 10:00 am-12:00 pm (EST)

Families will be able to register for one (1) listed timeslot. This social event will be available for children/families who meet the following criteria:

One parent/legal guardian or child must be a Métis Nation of Ontario Citizen and must reside in Ontario Have at least one child between the ages of 0-4 years and one parent/legal guardian present during the workshopAbility to access the internet and have a device to connect to Zoom Interested in learning about Métis history and culture from an Early Learning perspectiveWilling to participate in a digital environment*NEW FOR SOCIALS*Parent(s) must complete a free 30-minute certificate class on Sexual Abuse Prevention Parent(s) must read and sign off on the ELCC Code of Conduct and Child Protection policies Selected families will receive one kit per family, and have any required materials for all camp sessions supplied to them. The MNO ELCC program will pay for any additional items needed.

Other Considerations:

The application must be completed by the child’s parent or legal guardianAcceptance priority will be given to those who have not previously attended/participated in any ELCC campsThose who are not initially registered will be added to a waitlist for potential openings before the start date If you are accepted but then unable to attend the social, we require at least 5 days' notice to allow the opportunity for another family to participate.

The application period will take place from June 3 - 7, 2024. Please note: The application will remain open until the social reaches full capacity. When the social reaches full capacity, registration will be closed. 

Our ELCC Socials have a limited capacity, only approved applications will receive a confirmation email. All applicants accepted to attend the social will receive an email confirmation on or before June 14, 2024.
