The Métis Nation of Ontario's Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Program and Services team is announcing changes to the 2024-25 application process for four key programs: the extracurricular program, the Christmas program, the back-to-school backpack program and early learning kits. The changes are in response to the extraordinary response to the 2023-24 programs, and it is anticipated the changes will make access to the program more equitable for Métis families.

All the programs support Métis families with children 0-12 years old and access to early learning resources and support.  Families can apply to one, two, three or all four programs depending on their family’s needs.  Once the One Application period closes, the ELCC team will confirm eligibility and determine funding allocations based on the number of children in the program(s).

There will be a two-step application process: One Application (where eligibility will be determined) followed by a secondary application to confirm details or requirements for the specific program. Specific program information is available on the MNO website and in the application.

Waitlist applications for the Christmas Program, the Back-to-School Backpack program, or early learning kits closed on April 26, 2024. These programs are at capacity and are not accepting any more applications.

This application will ONLY accept applications for the extra curricular waitlist between June 3, 2024, and February 28, 2025. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee being accepted into the program. Families should save receipts for extra curricular activities in the event they are accepted. If they are accepted, families will be contacted by March 3, 2025.
