Deadline Apr 25 2025 04:30 PM (EDT)
Description

This application opens Monday, March 3, 2025, at 8:30 am EST and closes Friday, April 26, 2025, at 4:30 pm EST.

The Métis Nation of Ontario's Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Program and Services team will be accepting applications to four key programs in one application for 2025/2026.  The Extra Curricular, Christmas Gift, Back to School Backpacks and Family Early Learning Kits are among the most popular programs offered by the ELCC team.

Families can apply to one, two, three, or all four programs depending on their family's needs.  Once the One Application period closes, the ELCC team will confirm eligibility and determine funding allocations based on the number of children in the program(s). For the Extra Curricular Program, it will be based on the child's age and the number of applications received.

There will be a two-step application process: One Application (where eligibility will be determined), followed by a secondary process to confirm details or requirements for each specific program. This information will be shared after eligibility has been determined.

One Application (pre-application):

Families interested in receiving support for extracurricular activities, the Christmas Gift Program, the Back-to-School Backpack Program, or Family Early Learning Kits are invited to complete the One Application between March 3, 2025, and April 25, 2025.

Families will be required to provide information regarding their eligibility for the program, including citizenship and information for all children they believe are eligible.

Families who DO NOT complete a pre-application by April 25, 2024, may apply to a waitlist after June 2, 2025.

Secondary Applications:

Families will be advised what programs they are eligible for by May 5, 2025.  Information on secondary tasks and applications will be shared after eligibility is determined.

  • The parent, guardian, or child must be an MNO citizen eligible for direct benefits
  • The child must be 0-12 years old

  • The applicant's name MUST be the MNO citizen.

    • The ELCC team will not answer questions on the status of applications until after May 12, 2025.

    • The 2025-26 extra curricular program will accept receipts from April 1, 2025-March 6, 2026. Any receipts outside of these dates will NOT be accepted.

Before you submit the application, the application will confirm the name(s) and date(s) of birth of all children you have applied for. Children who are not listed on the application will NOT receive support. The ELCC team will NOT add children after the original application is submitted. Children not included in the original application may apply to the waitlist. However, the waitlist will prioritize children born in 2025 or 2026, applicants who are new MNO citizens, and children who have never received support from the ELCC extra curricular programs
